Review

This review applies to version 0.5 The latest version of this software will soon be reviewed by our informers.

WinFlip 0.50 is an application that allows the Vista "flipping windows" effect available in XP.

The program displays all open windows in a 3D layout, and we can switch between windows using the TAB hotkey, or choosing them with the mouse or pressing its letter. The windows will move over an axis, presented one after the other.

To activate this feature, WinFlip 0.50 places an icon on the system tray, that you must click if you want to apply the effect. Once you select a window, the effect won´t be able till you click on that icon again.

If you have configured your taskbar to hide when not in use, that won´t work while using WinFlip, you will still see the taskbar.

The program can be used in 23 different languages.

If you right-click over the WinFlip icon in the taskbar, you can access a contextual menu that lets you establish your options (the hotkeys you will use to do a quick flip or a slow flip, if you want the shortcut letters to be shown, set the mouse and other options). You can also change the display size and texture quality.
  • It´s a nice effect.
  • There should be an option to have it available without the need of clicking over its icon again and again.
